Thank you for visiting my website! I consider it an honor and privilege to represent District 65 and Denton County in the Texas House of Representatives.

Working together, we have reduced school property taxes by one third, increased border security to combat illegal immigration, and protected our 2nd amendment and religious freedoms. I am also proud to have authored a number of bills over the years that have made life better for many Texans. One such bill was HB 472, which strongly regulates telemarketing calls to your house. This bill allows citizens to put their name on a state “no-call” list which blocks telemarketing calls and works with the federal no-call list. HB 472 was passed before the federal no-call list and was a model for passing national legislation limiting unwanted telmarketing. In addition, I was the author of the first countywide transit bill in Texas which has resulted in the establishment of the Denton County Transportation Authority which is moving forward with commuter rail. I have also authored and passed major workers' compensation reform with HB 7, the Texas Finance Code Modernization Act (HB 955), the Texas Mortgage Fraud Act, and the Texas Safe Act regulating the mortgage industry. This past 81st Legislative Session, I was able to pass legislation that required the Public Utilities Commission and ERCOT to make their meetings accessible to the public on the internet in real time without charge to consumers, and our consumer electric and telecom billing more comprehensible.
